The Committee will present five candidates for the three Village Trustee positions. They are Patrick Escalante, Mark Senak, Matthew Jones, Kelli Christiansen and Stephen Thompson.  Voting at the Town Meeting will move the candidates with the top three vote counts on to the Spring Consolidated Election on April 2, 2019.

The Committee selected eight candidates for the four Library Trustee positions.  They are Karen Volk, Tim Brinker, Dwight Clarke, Linda Newman, Jennifer Shanahan, Molly McGinnis Knapke, Dena Herbert and Molly Hoerster.  Those receiving the highest four vote totals at the Town Meeting will also move on to the Spring Consolidated Election.

Nominating Committee Chair Margi Hamilton stated, “We experienced a high level of interest this cycle in both offices and were impressed with the candidates that came forward.  We look forward to a good turnout to support these candidates at the Town Meeting.”

This year’s town meeting will be held on December 1, 2018 with voting from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn at 424 Forest.  The candidates will be there to meet the voters and candidates will give brief speeches starting around 10:00 am.  There will also be two evenings of early voting on November 27 and 28 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Glen Ellyn Library.

Civic Betterment President Erik Ford expressed his “hope that the quality of our candidates and the level of interest in those running will transfer into a well-attended town Meeting and high voter participation.”
